This is a ground-breaking work by Pastor Doug Banister about why and how the walls between evangelicals and charismatics can come down in the setting of a "Word and Power" church, and a blueprint f
Word and Power ChurchI like that Banister was able to understand that the church needs both word and power。 I agree with most of his arguements on spiritual language but I don't think that one can control where and when they can speak in tongues。 I belief it happens whenever the Holy Spirit fills the atmosphere。 Good book I will recommend it to my friends。 Word and Power ChurchI like that Banister was able to understand that the church needs both word and power。 I agree with most of his arguements on spiritual language but I don't think that one can control where and when they can speak in tongues。 I belief it happens whenever the Holy Spirit fills the atmosphere。 Good book I will recommend it to my friends。 。。。more
Marcia,
Word and Power Church a great bookThis book is an important book that should should be a must read by all who are interested in ministry in today's church。 It is thought provoking and thoroughly engaging。 For those of us who are already part of a word and power church and don't know the history it's a good book to read so we can better understand some of those in our midst who we don't understand and to better understand some of those we may be trying to reach。 Word and Power Church a great bookThis book is an important book that should should be a must read by all who are interested in ministry in today's church。 It is thought provoking and thoroughly engaging。 For those of us who are already part of a word and power church and don't know the history it's a good book to read so we can better understand some of those in our midst who we don't understand and to better understand some of those we may be trying to reach。 。。。more
Brandon,
Honest book that deals with issues between the charismatic and evangelical divide in regards to developing a relationship with Christ。 Has a lot of testimonies interlaced by conservative theological scholarship。 A good book overall
Justin Nichols,
4。1 -- Good book。
Royal Farris,
I read this book back in 2000。。 I think it is a good read on the importance of balance in the church。 Some churches focus on the law or the Word of God so much they don't even pay attention to the Holy Spirit while other churches focus so much on the Spirit, or the Spirit experience and not enough on the word。A healthy and biblical church in balanced。 I have not read this in a long time and I want to go back and read it agian。 I read this book back in 2000。。 I think it is a good read on the importance of balance in the church。 Some churches focus on the law or the Word of God so much they don't even pay attention to the Holy Spirit while other churches focus so much on the Spirit, or the Spirit experience and not enough on the word。A healthy and biblical church in balanced。 I have not read this in a long time and I want to go back and read it agian。 。。。more
Ben Ward,
Tries to make the "divide" between the Evangelical church and the Charismatic church to black and white。 It makes them each caricatures instead of what they really are。 Tries to make the "divide" between the Evangelical church and the Charismatic church to black and white。 It makes them each caricatures instead of what they really are。 。。。more
